Which Invisible Aligners Are Best?

Do you wish you had straighter teeth? For many years, you could only get straighter teeth using metal braces, but thanks to advances in dentistry, many people are eligible for clear aligner therapy. Clear aligners, which are practically invisible, use gentle pressure to straighten your smile. Which kind is best?

What Are the Differences Between Invisalign & ClearCorrect?

Our practice offers both Invisalign and ClearCorrect. Invisalign is the best-known invisible aligner brand. Dentists have to be Invisalign-trained before offering the treatment. Invisalign uses a patented thermoplastic material (called SmartTrack), which many patients find to be more durable than other brands.

ClearCorrect aligners have a thinner design, which means they’re less noticeable but sometimes less durable. Treatment with ClearCorrect may also take a bit longer, but every case is different. Both Invisalign and ClearCorrect are effective, so we can decide together which works best for you.

What Is Invisible Aligner Treatment Like?

Treatment is basically the same whether you get Invisalign or ClearCorrect. We take impressions of your smile, which are used to create your custom aligners. When they arrive, you should wear them for 21-22 hours a day for best results. Every two weeks, you’ll switch to the next aligner in the series as your teeth shift. When treatment is over, we’ll give you a retainer to wear at night, so your teeth don’t move back.

How Do You Take Care of Invisible Aligners?

For clean, clear aligners, you should wash your trays with a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear antibacterial soap at least once a day. You don’t need to use soap and water every time you take them out to eat, but you should at least give them a good rinse with cold or lukewarm water. Heat warps the aligners, so never use hot water. When you take them out for meals, store the aligners in a case.
